This is a recording of a live performance of Morton Feldman's "Only". The goal of this performance was to explore surround sound possibilities in real time. The singer was on stage singing while I was altering his voice through four separate sound filters. Each filter was being sent to a different speaker. The four speakers were put in each corner.

The idea was that the audience would hear the performers singing in surround sound and real time but each speaker would be producing a different, altered version of his voice.

I've included a rehearsal recording, which is undistorted, along with the live performance recording. The live performance has been mixed down to stereo.
